Aug 9th's Eel River trip
Last Sunday’s trip was a warm one, very warm one! With temps in the 90s and heat index in the 100s, 12 boaters, 3 dogs, with 10 craft hit the water of the Eel River. While water was low a sharp eye kept most in their boats and out of the water for a cruise that was filled with sun, a good breeze, and few bugs. Having met at McDonald’s in the morning there was lots of talk about supper……seems like we always have lots of conversation about food in this group……and it was decided to try a new to us Mexican Restaurant called El Mezquite located just below the North Manchester Dam at 402 Wabash Rd.. Tom S had told me that the food was good and the beer cold which is about as good as it gets for hungry river rats coming off of a Mickey d’s breakfast. This turned out to be a excellent choice and will I’m sure, see more use.
Making the trip were: Ruth B., Patti & Jef K., Ron W., Dave & Mari M., Don H., Jim & Jeanette W., Joe S., Steve E., and the Crow. Picture by Joe S..
