Trip Report for the Fawn River, Oct. 11, 09

15 boats and 19 folks showed up for the Fawn trip in spite of a cool North wind. Water level was up and the sun responded in shining on us for most of the trip. Six paddlers were new to our group and added to the usual camaraderie of a fine fall trip with lots of colors. Just before lunch stop one of our boaters decided it was time for a dip and picked a nice deep spot with a little structure in it for the swim……did I mention the North wind? A change of clothes at the cabin made quick work of heat exchange and no one else decided to wet cloth. After lunch it was back to the river and more ducks, geese, muskrats, etc.. All to soon the take out was upon us as the current was much quicker than usual. Off to Turkey Lake for fish and chicken and then the goodbyes as another trip comes to a end.
